Team Nosco Mechanicus is hard at work solving the
FLL Smart Move Challenge. Learn more about what we are

We have been on two exciting field trips, the first to Virginia Tech Transportation Institute's Smart Road. We toured the Smart Road, the Control Center, saw the test vehicles, and spoke with a researcher.
The second field trip was to Carilion's Patient Transportation Services. We saw the new $6.5 million LifeGuard 10 helicopter. We met with the crew and dispatch personnel. Our research project addresses a problem they experience with emergency communication by radio.
We brought our robots to the Future Focus Expo and had a fun time talking to others about FIRST LEGO League. See link to pictures below.
We presented to the community at the Hollins Library on Saturday, November 7, from 2:30 to 3:30. We presented our project and demonstrated our robot. We had a great time.
We competed at the Lynchburg Regional Tournament, which was held on Saturday, November 14. We won 1st Place Champion's award and the 2nd Place Robot Performance award with a top robot score of 310. The team with the highest robot score was LynTECH Green, scoring 370.
We are presented our project and demonstrated our robot to the Boy Scout Troop 211. Both Andrew and David are a part of this troop. Two other scouts in this troop are also members of an FLL robotics team, the CAMS RoboPatriots. They presented with us. Andrew and David, seeing the need for a Boy Scout merit badge in robotics, drafted a proposal to submit to the Scout headquarters.
We competed at the State Championship in Harrisonburg, VA, on December 5-6. Although we did not win any awards, we had a great time competing, playing in the snow, seeing the other teams' pit displays and robot designs, and sharing our FLL experiences.
